I was born and raised in North Carolina, moved to NYC, and there I found the need to document everything. Fast-forwarding to now, I’m a creative,’try anything once”, photog with an affinity for lifestyle photography.
As a self-proclaimed music junkie, I honed my visual style starting with the album covers of my father’s vinyl collection. Also, I was very influenced by an eclectic mix of magazines like VIBE, Spin, XXL, New York Magazine, Vogue, TIME, and LIFE magazine. My photographer heroes were early Japanese cinema, Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Saul Leiter, Chi Modu, Jamal Shabazz, Alan Schaller, Herb Ritts, and the movies made by Wong Kar Wai. I was captivated by the imaginative styles associated with early music videos, because of their ‘unafraid-to-try-anything’ ethos.
